The Greatest Lesson the Watchtower Ever Taught Me
by jamiebowers inthe greatest lesson that the watchtower has taught me is to give the love that has been taken from me.
our mother shuns my brother and me to the extreme.
just this morning she told me on the phone from her hospital bed that we will have to learn her diagnosis through the grapevine.. she wasn't always like this.

Are You A Better Person Since Leaving The Witnesses?
by minimus inare you a better neighbor, friend, husband, wife, etc.
i'm much less judgmental of what people do or think.
i'm more tolerant and i think i have real friends that are not as conditional as my jw brethren.. what about you?.

I'm much happier now . Like most comments here i'm more tolerant, less judgemental. I look for good in others rather than dismissing them as 'worldly'. I work much harder, my business is thriving because of it and i'm much less stressed than i was. Being free of the guilt/oppression that comes from being a JW drone has made a huge difference to me !

Superb Mani!
'In simple terms, for each person its a loss/gain situation - and if they will not gain enough to help them withstand the massive loss they will experience on every level of thier existence - I personally don't think its best for them to leave'.
Couldn't agree more, i've been mentally free from the WTS for about 18months. My parents have been active for the last 35 years, it pains me everyday to think of the life they've wasted but what would they do now if they discovered the 'real' truth, they're in their late 60's.
Thank you for your hard work.

Welcome shadowolf! I wish i was 16 when i found out the real truth (I was 32). I agree with other comments of you needing to be careful what you say to your family about the WTS, but i feel you're also in a good position to sow some doubts in their minds.

Have you ever heard JWs say, "our ministry isn't about making converts", or similar? Would you consider that line of thought accurate?
by miseryloveselders inthis past tuesday night, there was a part on the service meeting entitled, "highlight the practicle value of the good news.
" the brother initiated the part by asking, "what do people mistakenly think our reason is for knocking at their door?
" there were several comments given.

I can't remember where i read it or who said it but they're changing the emphasis of the of the preaching work from converting/saving mankind, to praising Jah. They're doing this to excuse the success rate in the ministry which is on the decline and will be very obviously so in the next few years. It enables them to say 'We don't care that the ministry is a failure we're only doing it to praise Jehovah anyway'. Deluded f*ckers!

UN & NGO - PRO-WT Apologetics is TOP HIT on Google search!
by Essan ini typed in 'watchtower ngo' into google search the other day and was shocked to see that the top result was for a pro-wtbts site called 'jehovahsjudgement'.
i'm very disappointed by this because it means that one of the first sites jw's searching for the truth about the society's involvement with the un are going to come across is this deceitful apologetics page which tries to make it seem like the society affiliating with the un is no big deal and perfectly acceptable!.
this pro-wtbts site is successfully debunked by a response site - http://jehovahsjudgmentexposed.blogspot.com/ - which takes apart their excuses and manipulative deceptions fairly expertly, but still, this site doesn't appear when you do a google search and i had to look really hard to find it.

Do the GB really BELIEVE??
by Slidin Fast ini believe that most dubs remain because of the investment they have made to the "truth".
as soon as men become a ms or an elder they have bought in and can no longer express any doubts felt.
then promotion through full time "service" means an increase in authority over those below and control by those above.

New Apostate here
by skitt ini did not know where to start, but figured the personal experience section was a good place to begin.
won't bore you with all the particulars today....but i was raised in "it" (wont call it the truth, cause it ain't) from about 1968. baptized in 1985, faded about 2001.....woke up from the insanity after reading ray franz forbidden book a few years ago(crisis).
only sorry i did not read it earlier....but there was that fear factor instilled in me.
